It's breeding time. A few days ago, I could take those photos...
When I returned today, the coot and the Canada goose were still sitting in their nest

But on a lawn I could find this

and a bit further away also little grebes

A very grey day today. While driving past the creek my wife exclaimed, "A Kingfisher!!" We circled around and watched for a moment. Since we only live a mile away from the creek, I zoomed home, grabbed the 600mm and got a few shots.
Even though it was only about 40 feet away, a bit of cropping was still needed. I didn't use the 1.4 TC so I could use that extra stop of light. F/4 at 1/250, ISO 2000.IMG_0217 (1) copy.jpg

My wife and I went to see if the local Kingfisher was feeding this morning, but no luck. We then went to the river and watched a variety of birds, including two Kingfishers chasing and yelling at each other. I got some shots of the victor.

We also watched a female Bufflehead lounging about.
