My question is would this work with the R8? But thinking the screen wouldn't pivot with that solid shape L
Do you have an R8?

I suspect their answer would be yes, it does. But you'd have to use it with the upright bracket spaced away from the body.

I picked up a used RRS L-bracket for the EOS RP, and it works perfectly on the R8 (well, it works as intended, when the upright part of the modular bracket is attached, the screen flips out into the gap but that does restrict the positioning somewhat – I have not found it to be a problem in practice).

Maybe the following is the answer:
  • Unparalleled adjustability for camera body sizes and screen articulation.
  • Sliding L-component to adapt to body size and port configurations.
  • Shifting fore-aft mounting screw, flange plate, and L-component gives further flexibility for body size, and center mount indexing.
I just hope this 'unparalleled adjustability' doesn't mean they'll stop making custom-fit, dedicated L-plates in favor this universal solution that will fit lots of different bodies acceptably (but not perfectly).
