Sigma 70 Art

Lovely sharpness and great detail, esp. when you look at the hairs on the legs.
Really good shot, good arrangement of the focus plane, chrysoberyl.
When I look at the bg blur I see not too much sharpening and a quite good bokeh for a macro.
Congats for the shot as well as for the acquisition. :)

Thanks very much for the compliments! I have begun relying on AF with this lens. I haven't noticed a missed shot yet. Of course, my subjects tend to be pretty static. Still, I was accustomed to using MF primarily, so this is quite a change for me.

This is one of my favorite lenses. I find it easier to get sharp photos than with the longer 100 mm macro lenses, and it is very sharp with good color. AF is accurate, but not as fast as Canon USM.

Great pictures - would love to see a full resolution of the spider...

Looks like spring has come to your part of the world. Not so for us. We still have a ways to go.. Enjoy it and thanks for sharing the pictures.
