Doesn't seem bad at all for Australian prices. I checked: I was expecting to have to flame you, but they don't come up with inflated delivery charges in checkout. So, yeah, pretty good ;-)

That's cheap. Hopefully they're clearing stock for an updated version, or better yet, a new 14-24L. I love my 17-40 but it's showing its age now.

Not a bad lens.... i found it much better than the old 16-35mm f/2.8 L...

Would have been a steal for under 700 new.

Im deciding between the 17-70mm and the 16-35mm. Hmm, I want it for music/concert photography but I need a fast lens for low light (at night in a arena where the roof is closed) which pretty much rules out the 17-40mm although i prefer that focal length over the 16-35mm :/

I saw I notice on a board right near the staff office and someone's selling their used 17-40mmL for $700. I took a pic of it on my phone lol. They're in geelong though and apparently the lens is in "great condition". My interest peaked for 2 seconds. But I know I should just keep saving and get a better(?) L lens than the 17-40L. I would like the 35L, that one seems good but arent canon about to release a mkII??
